Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent practical experience.
- 4 years of experience in accounting or a related function, or 1 year with an advanced degree in accounting, business, or finance.
- 2 years of experience in operational revenue accounting and reporting.
- Experience with ASC 606 and Unites States Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
Preferred qualifications:
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
- Experience with financial processes such as Order to Cash cycle and related risks and controls.
- Ability to lead and drive complex initiatives cross-functionally in a fluid environment across a global organization.
- Experience improving revenue processes and systems
- Ability to grow in ambiguity and communicate with senior management.
- Excellent technical accounting skills, including an understanding of accounting principles, including US GAAP.
About the job
As a member of the Google Cloud Controllership team supporting revenue accounting operations, you will be instrumental in implementing revenue recognition processes and controls, supporting the foundation for future growth in a fluid environment. You will ensure that the processes and systems are aligned and that a culture of continuous process improvement with results exists. You will be a team-oriented accountant, contributing to the growth environment. In this role, you will be an integral part of the revenue reporting process and will have the opportunity to work with cross-functional teams across Google's business units.Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Responsibilities
- Develop and execute revenue recognition processes for defined projects or areas, ensuring accuracy and compliance with ASC 606 and other applicable standards.
- Provide recommendations to leadership on process improvements to enhance efficiency, without compromising quality
- Perform month-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and analysis of revenue-related data.
- Build and maintain relationships with peers and leaders across various locations to facilitate communication and problem-solving.
- Assist with internal and external audits by providing supporting documentation.
