Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience building developer tools that improve developer velocity, code quality and code health (e.g., compilers, automated releases, code design and testing, test automation frameworks).
- 2 years of experience with systems design or coding in a general purpose programming language (ie. Java, C/C++, Python).
- Experience with test methodologies, writing test plans and creating test cases.
Preferred qualifications:
- 4 years of experience with coding in a general purpose programming language (ie. Java, C/C++, Python).
- Experience in at least one of the following: developer tooling & infrastructure, building tools and testing frameworks, test-driven development, build infrastructure, optimizing software, debugging.
- Experience working with mobile testing, web testing, testing frameworks, release process or data analysis.
- Ability to influence others with data-driven engineering and operations.
- Excellent technical analysis and troubleshooting skills, ranging from application debugging to system performance optimization to cloud infrastructure design.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
About the job
As an Test engineer you will work closely with the engineering feature teams and provide support in the form of test infrastructure, tooling needed for testing, data injection mechanisms or test frameworks (adaptation of existing frameworks to specific needs).
You will have knowledge of mobile development iOS or Android.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain test strategies, tools and infrastructure software to support testing efforts and to improve the testability of the product and systems.
- Collaborate with engineering teams and work across a full-stack (client, server, device) to align on strategies, and develop tooling and automation to improve product quality and robustness.
- Impact the productivity of engineers working in the Fitbit Mobile App landscape by providing tools, processes and guidance for improving app testability and writing automated test cases.
- Work with talented test engineers inside EngProd to understand the automation needs for certain features and build the appropriate infrastructure.
