Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Human Computer Interface, Interaction, or equivalent practical experience.
- 15 years of experience in an executive role, creating strategy and designing products.
- Experience working with executives, user researchers, writers, product managers, and engineers.
- Experience managing UX teams.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading teams and driving organizational design, career development, operations, and culture both within UX organizations and in partnership with Product Management and Engineering teams.
- Knowledge of AI, mobile, and web technologies.
- Understanding of user experience and performance metrics.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to understand, articulate positions, and advocate for designs.
- Excellent managerial and operational skills, with an UX portfolio, demonstrating clear insights, problem-solving, and simple solutions skills.

As a User Experience (UX) Director, you will help define and drive the future of Local Ad opportunities, working with a global team across EMEA, APAC, and the US. You'll identify opportunities, set product strategy, and empower teams to push the boundaries of what's possible.

Our teams create trusted experiences between people and businesses with useful ads. We help grow businesses of all sizes from small businesses, to large brands, to YouTube creators, with effective advertiser tools that deliver measurable results. We also enable Google to engage with customers at scale.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $267,000-$376,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
- Create compelling product outlooks and strategic roadmaps that lead to the growth of existing products as well as boldly exploring new ones.
- Advocate for the efforts of the team and collaborate across Google to make all product better.
- Build relationships and operating rhythms with leaders inside and outside of Ads, to drive user experiences that are cohesive and well-informed.
- Collaborate with Product Management and Engineering partners in order to build the right user experiences.
