Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 2 years of experience in silicon life-cycle or hardware design life-cycle.
- 2 years of experience with security engineering, computer and network security, and security protocols.
- 2 years of experience in Verilog/SystemVerilog.
Preferred qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in software development and security engineering.
- Experience with Hardware, Firmware, Systems Programming.
- Experience with Hardware System Architecture.
- Experience with Software Engineering, Reverse Engineering.
- Experience with Risk Assessment, Threat Models.

As a Security Engineer, you help protect network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. Security Engineers work directly with network equipment and actively monitor our systems for attacks and intrusions. You also work with software engineers to proactively identify and fix security flaws and vulnerabilities.You use your industry experience to own and drive the resolution of complex security incidents, policy questions and technical security issues. Responsibilities
- Perform security reviews for silicon designs (RTL). Scope and deliver comprehensive security reviews of hardware/firmware components.
- Develop and refine threat models, risk assessments, and define security requirements for hardware products entering Google’s data centers.
- Design and engineer the necessary security controls for identified threats and risks.
- Provide subject matter expertise to Platforms Infrastructure Engineering (PIE) teams designing and developing the next generation data center hardware.
