Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in product management or related technical roles.
- 3 years of experience taking technical products from conception to launch.
- Experience with developer facing products.
- Experience in building and maintaining partnerships.
Preferred qualifications:
- Master's degree in a technology or business related field.
- Experience in product management for connected devices or Internet of Things (IoT) platforms.
- Knowledge of smart home technologies and ecosystem.
- Understanding of networking protocols (e.g., Wi-Fi, Thread, Bluetooth), embedded systems, and security principles.
- Ability to influence without authority and drive alignment across cross-functional teams and external organizations.
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.

As a Product Manager, you will define and own the overarching goal, strategy, and multi-year roadmap for our core developer platform. You will be involved in setting the strategic direction for our core Home APIs and their adoption across the industry, owning the developer's journey from discovery to launch, and establishing the frameworks that ensure the health, quality, and integrity of our rapidly growing ecosystem. You will have to make a significant impact in making Google Home the platform of choice for smart home developers and fostering innovation for millions of users.
The Google Home team focuses on hardware, software and services offerings for the home, ranging from thermostats to smart displays. The Home team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of the product goal, strategy, and roadmap for Home APIs, aligned with user needs and Google Home's overall strategy.
- Define and prioritize Home APIs, use cases, and technical requirements, considering both consumer and developer needs.
- Drive Home APIs adoption and expansion by building and maintaining strategic partnerships with device manufacturers, platform providers, and other key stakeholders.
- Influence partner roadmaps and ensure seamless integration of Home APIs across the smart home ecosystem.
- Act as a technical expert on Home APIs, bridging the gap between technical details and user/business impact.
