Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 10 years of experience in quota-carrying cloud or software sales, or consultative account management at a business-to-business (B2B) software company.
- Experience selling to North Carolina or Tennessee State, Local, and Education (SLED) customers.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience selling transformative solutions across the public sector. Experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI) transformation and cloud solutions.
- Experience aligning solutions to drive business outcomes for Higher Education.
- Experience working with customer engineers and customers technical leads to inventory software estate, define migration plans, and build migration business cases.
- Experience growing existing customer base and acquiring new logos to increase spend and accelerate consumption business.
- Experience working with, and leading, cross-functional teams and partners in implementations.

In this role, you will focus as the primary Field Sales Representative for the Higher Education market in North Carolina and Tennessee. You will collaborate with extended teams to devise strategies to acquire specific segments of the market. You will also educate prospective and current clients on the opportunities within their business sector.You will serve as the primary architect for our partnership with Research 1 (R1) and Research 2 (R2) institutions. A central focus of this role is the stewardship of a regional premier showcase account. You will be expected to navigate academic ecosystems, align our technology with institutional research missions, and secure long-term, campus-wide adoptions.Google Public Sector brings the magic of Google to the mission of government and education with solutions purpose-built for enterprises. We focus on helping United States public sector institutions accelerate their digital transformations, and we continue to make significant investments and grow our team to meet the complex needs of local, state and federal government and educational institutions.
Responsibilities
- Lead the long-term growth strategy for a portfolio of Research 1 (R1) and Research 2 (R2) institutions.
- Establish and maintain partnerships with University Chancellors, Provosts, Chief Information Officers (CIOs), and Research Deans to align our solutions with institutional goals.
- Navigate the funding and operational requirements of the Research 1 (R1) and Research 2 (R2) research market, facilitating technology adoption that supports federal grants and academic breakthroughs.
- Orchestrate internal resources, including business engineering, deals desk, legal, and professional services, to deliver multi-year agreements and deployments.
- Identify and execute growth opportunities within the North Carolina and Tennessee education markets, focusing on digital transformation and campus-wide infrastructure.
