Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 8 years of experience in program management, motivating cross-functional projects across multiple organizations.
- 8 years of experience in the software development life cycle with technical product launches.
- 5 years of experience in leadership role with direct reports.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience developing processes where little exists, balanced with flexibility to get things done.
- Ability to organize teams.
- Ability to work through ambiguity to detailed solutions.
- Ability to work with technical engineering and partner teams, with a track record of partnering to deliver insights and issues impacting users.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, especially taking concepts or information and synthesizing them to an executive level.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.
In this role you will track overall software development for Pixel phones and tablets, from concept to launch, includes planning for Pixel software development and release, managing the software and hardware milestones, and collaborating with software, testing, cert and ops teams to deliver the quality products on time.
The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world's most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Responsibilities
- Manage software projects. Work with multiple teams across both hardware and software on cross-functional initiatives to land silicon, hardware and software projects, estimate work efforts, define milestones and manage resources.
- Track progress, resolve dependencies, evaluate risks and communicate status to upper management and project stakeholders. Engage and energize the project teams to achieve goals, ensure roadmap feature alignment for current and future programs.
- Identify communication gaps, manage issue escalations and provide support to teams balancing engaging priorities. Drive results proactively.
- Understand technical implementation at the architecture level and propose technical alternatives when necessary. Ask questions that clarify priorities and push the team to be effective. Develop broad domain and technical knowledge.
