Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Finance, Business, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 14 years of experience in multi-disciplined procurement focused roles, or 12 years of experience with an advanced degree focused on leading strategy development, execution and sourcing, or a related function.
  • Experience in collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certifications in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience working in a regional procurement role, understanding regional nuances and issues.
  • Experience in stakeholder management in a regional context, including building relationships and addressing concerns.
  • Knowledge of regional procurement regulations and standards.
  • Ability to navigate regional supply chain networks and relationships.

Within the Google Procurement Organization, the Category Management team partners closely with key stakeholders to help shape and implement procurement strategies. The Category Team is responsible for developing and driving holistic category strategies, managing stakeholder relationships, and bringing excellence to Google-wide sourcing, supplier, and contract management.

In this role, you will be responsible for pioneering innovative category and sourcing strategies, cultivating strategic supplier relationships, and serving as a trusted advisor to different Product Areas (PAs) and Functions, working collaboratively to ensure that GPO strategies and activities are aligned with the specific needs and objectives of each team to drive efficiency, effectiveness, and value across Google

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $205,000-$288,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Drive maximum category value through a deep understanding of cost drivers supported by total cost and should cost analysis. Deliver category strategies to impact business priorities.
  • Foster excellent partnerships with budget owners, Product Area/Functional stakeholders, and strategic suppliers, acting as a business partner to drive innovation and category transformation.
  • Understand needs, goals, and issues of Product Areas and Functions and align procurement strategies with these requirements to ensure synergy between GPO and business objectives.
  • Collaborate with Product Area/Functional partners and category managers to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements in procurement processes and provide insights and strategies to optimize spending.
  • Collaborate with Product Areas/Functions to assess their procurement needs, analyze requirements, specifications, and demand forecasts to determine the most suitable procurement strategies and solutions in partnership with x-GPO pillar teams.
