About the job

A problem isn’t truly solved until it’s solved for all. That’s why Googlers build products that help create opportunities for everyone, whether down the street or across the globe. As a Program Manager at Google, you’ll lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish — working with stakeholders to plan requirements, manage project schedules, identify risks, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. Your projects will often span offices, time zones, and hemispheres. It's your job to coordinate the players and keep them up to date on progress and deadlines.

The Global Submarine Networks (GSN) team's primary mission is to build, operate, sell and manage Google's global subsea cable assets. The GSN Compliance team contributes to this mission by ensuring that GSN remains compliant with all regulatory obligations associated with the global subsea network. The team also takes proactive measures to assess and mitigate compliance risks and provide assurance to GSN's internal and external stakeholders that GSN adheres to its subsea cable regulatory compliance obligations.

Behind everything our users see online is the architecture built by the Technical Infrastructure team to keep it running. From developing and maintaining our data centers to building the next generation of Google platforms, we make Google's product portfolio possible. We're proud to be our engineers' engineers and love voiding warranties by taking things apart so we can rebuild them. We keep our networks up and running, ensuring our users have the best and fastest experience possible.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage several team projects of varying complexity and scope. Drive project delivery, challenge proposals, and build consensus.
  • Collaborate with GSN, Legal and others in the preparation and submission of regulatory reporting and license applications, and the establishment of compliance programs globally.
  • Develop processes for assessing compliance risk, establishing compliance oversight, responding to incidents of non-compliance, and answering scheduled and unscheduled queries from regulators.
  • Work across internal and external teams on initiatives aimed at improving performance and quality, while ensuring compliance internally and externally.
  • Analyze, summarize, and publish compliance obligation documents and develop accompanying training materials. Proactively collect and organize data in anticipation of compliance obligation requirements.
