Customer Engineer, AppDev

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, related Software Engineering field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 6 years of experience in cloud computing (e.g., infrastructure, storage, platforms, data), cloud market dynamics and customer buying behavior.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Computer Science or other relevant technical field.
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Experience in providing technical presentations and demos in both Hebrew and English.
  • Experience with Developer Operations best practices (e.g., CI/CD), with the ability to gather, analyze, debug, and fix problems that occur with live production systems.
  • Ability to think strategically, with the big picture in mind.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies, and solutions in the Cloud/IT technology space.

About the job

As a part of the Customer Engineering organization in Google Cloud, you will help customers implement best practices and publish solutions to help modernize customers applications. This includes solutions to help automate and manage infrastructure, application life-cycle, and data management. You will provide direction on how to tailor the mechanisms used to secure and deploy workloads reliably and safely to production.

Responsibilities

  • Work with the team to identify and qualify business opportunities, understand key customer technical objections, and develop the strategy to resolve technical blockers.
  • Share in-depth enterprise infrastructure and cloud modernization experience to support the technical relationship with customers, including technology advocacy, supporting bid responses, product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and partnering directly with product management to prioritize solutions impacting customer adoption to Google Cloud.
  • Guide customers through assessments of their existing legacy application environments, provide recommendations on a prioritization roadmap for application modernization, and identify opportunities for migration to hybrid-cloud computing models.
  • Structure and execute prototyping workshops to prove out proposed architectures, developing best practices, and documenting blocking requirements for prioritization with engineering.
  • Travel to customer sites, conferences, and other related events as required, acting as a public advocate for Google Cloud.
