Minimum qualifications:

  • 15 years of professional experience in tech, including 5 years of experience as a Product Engineering/Management leader with a research background.
  • Experience in computing infrastructure.
  • Experience with general purpose systems and infrastructure, and with technical innovation in hardware and on-premises infrastructure.
  • Experience with cloud platforms and large-scale AI infrastructure.
  • Experience with on premises/hybrid products.
  • Experience leading and managing large-scale infrastructure teams, and delivering projects.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Engineering.
  • Experience leading Product, Engineering, and Research teams in complex, cross-functional environments.
  • Experience innovating state-of-the-art technology at scale within large, complex, and cross-functional engineering environments, and a passion for development and the use of cross-platform shared code.
  • Ability to balance detailed, technical guidance with “big picture” strategy, enabling teams to deliver products that are effective and also creating new ways to manage data at scale.

About the job

As the Senior Director of Engineering for Hybrid and On-Premise Infrastructure, you will be responsible for defining the product roadmap, developer experience, installation and operations experience, training and support, and overall customer experience for Google Cloud’s on-premise and hybrid infrastructure. This will include driving the business case, commercial engagements, partnerships, GTM, and overall end-to-end P&L ownership.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $349,000-$485,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Develop the strategic vision for the Hybrid and On-Premise Infrastructure business, responsible for defining the architecture and roadmap and delivering it. Collaborate with Product and Go-to-Market leaders to shape the multi-year strategy for our migrate, modernize and workload efforts.
  • Influence the product and team's direction by collaborating with peer managers within Google teams, and external partners. Partner with internal cross-functional organizations and also partner with external vendors and partners.
  • Represent the customer perspective, understanding their needs and ensuring that the team delivers solutions that delight and empower users.
  • Lead the team in maintaining and enhancing product, engineering, operational, and support excellence to ensure reliable and high-performance operations.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to guarantee the timely delivery of new product initiatives.
