Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, Communication, Literature, Business, Marketing, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in UX writing, content design, technical writing, writing, editorial, marketing, or related, as well as leading content strategy projects.
  • Include a portfolio, website, or any other relevant link to your work in your resume (providing a viewable link or access instructions).

Preferred qualifications:

  • 8 years of writing, editorial, marketing, or UX writing experience in an agency setting.
  • 7 years of experience interacting with executive leadership.
  • 5 years of experience working in a complex, cross-functional technology organization.
  • Experience working on generative AI products.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.

About the job

As a UX Writer and Content Designer on the Trust and Quality team, you will help pioneer what's next for Search by shaping clear, reliable, and high-quality experiences, particularly focusing on generative AI responses.

This role is not focused on traditional UI string writing, you will develop and implement innovative content strategies, patterns, and training methods, leveraging user feedback and data to evolve response quality in a changing and often ambiguous environment.In Google Search, we're reimagining what it means to search for information – any way and anywhere. The US base salary range for this full-time position is $165,000-$245,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process.

Responsibilities

  • Execute impactful content strategies, crafting clear, user-centered content, guidelines, and standards across a range of user experiences, including generative AI responses.
  • Define, implement, and govern scalable content systems, style guides, and best practices to ensure consistent voice, quality, and effectiveness across all user touch points.
  • Lead content design projects from discovery, strategic planning, and stakeholder alignment through execution and iterative refinement, proactively resolving complex tests.
  • Understand by leveraging research, testing, and data to translate complex concepts and user needs into clear, accessible, and intuitive language and UX strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional partners across our Design, Research, Product Management, Engineering, Legal, and Marketing teams to shape product strategy and deliver cohesive user experiences.
