Technology Audit Manager

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management Information Systems or equivalent experience.
  • 10 years of experience in Internal Audit, Risk or Compliance roles.
  • Experience identifying and analyzing risks and internal controls in business and technology processes.
  • Experience developing and leading audit programs, reporting on audit findings or making recommendations for risk mitigation.
  • Experience performing risk assessments, identifying and analyzing internal controls, and auditing platforms, hardware, and devices, content moderation, online advertising, cloud technologies, content licensing, e-commerce, privacy, security, AI, or regulatory compliance.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Certification in CISA/CISSP/PMP.
  • Experience with SQL.
  • Experience communicating clearly and concisely to executive leadership.
  • Familiarity with basic structures/principles of object-oriented programming and coding in Python, Java, C++ or comparable language, evaluating for risk and design.
  • Ability to manage/coordinate multiple project assignments simultaneously in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments, owning and taking accountability, and delivering on commitments.
  • Excellent communication skills.

Internal Audit‘s mission is to focus on reducing risk across Alphabet. We do this by monitoring the risk environment across Alphabet and providing insights to enable effective risk management. We work closely with teams and leadership to achieve a strong control environment that enhances and protects organizational value. We serve as one of the company’s various lines of defense for staffing and developing our team to be control experts who deliver reliable results.

In this role, you will advise the business and engineering groups to identify areas of risk and make valuable recommendations on controls. You will have the opportunity to influence change and decisions for business initiatives including product launches and system implementations.
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $177,000-$263,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Execute audit initiatives for key areas ( e.g., Ads, Search, YouTube) encompassing resource planning, stakeholder management, and direct delivery of impact through involvement and team oversight, including risk-sensing and project identification.
  • Develop innovative problem-solving strategies and solutions for audit plans and risks, by designing comprehensive approaches finding root causes and enhancing audit effectiveness through integrating different methodologies.
  • Guide audit teams with varying experience to lead engagements, proactively managing risks and collaborating with global stakeholders to implement solutions. Influence executive leadership with clear risk rationale and recommendations, continuously enhancing audit methodologies.
  • Prepare detailed audit reports summarizing scope, procedures, findings, and recommendations.
  • Communicate findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, including engineering and non-engineering professionals. Educate the importance of controls, effective control environments, and the value of internal audit.
