System Gauge and Input Path Engineering Lead, Pixel

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in software development, and with data structures/algorithms.
  • 5 years of experience in power management or power design/methodology.
  • Experience with either battery fuel gauges, battery management system or charging profile.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 10 years of experience in battery powered computing devices.
  • Experience with Consumer Battery Gauge and Battery Management Units, Li-ion battery design, operation, performance, and safety.
  • Experience with circuit design, including mixed-signal and digital micro-controller systems and Lab equipments, such as battery testers, DMM, and oscilloscopes.
  • Experience with Embedded Programming in C or C++.
  • Understanding of mobile devices, including both hardware and software, and interactions between the two, devices, batteries, charging, wireless charging.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $197,000-$291,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of firmware solutions and tools, drivers, and system API, for charging and battery management from requirements and design through implementation, test and deployment.
  • Lead the development of Fuel Gauge and Battery Algorithms for characterization of impedance, capacity learning, determination of battery health, cell modeling for resource constrained environments and embedded devices.
  • Drive System Evaluation, Validation, System Integration and Tuning of hardware/software/firmware solution for Fuel Gauge, Battery and Input power path management.
  • Analyze Battery, Fuel Gauge Battery Management and Charging Field-Data for the evaluation of the impact of system and charging policies on battery health and system performances. 
  • Design, develop and utilize tools, scripts and testing fixtures and google infra for testing and analysis of battery, charging and system power use cases.
